Biogen seeks a Medical Science Liaison to provide scientific expertise and medical support across four Italian regions. The role involves engaging with healthcare professionals, gathering clinical insights, and maintaining disease and product knowledge to support medical affairs activities in rare disease areas.
Responsibilities
Conduct high-quality scientific and medical exchanges with healthcare professionals and stakeholders
Gather, interpret and communicate medical insights from experts to inform Medical Affairs strategy and research opportunities
Maintain current knowledge of therapy advances, clinical research, and Biogen products across disease areas
Support medical research activities and clinical interactions within governance boundaries
Collaborate with internal teams including Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Marketing for aligned execution
Requirements




Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline; advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred
Minimum 2+ years experience in rare diseases, neurological disorders, genetics, neurology, immunology, dermatology, or hematology
Ability to communicate complex medical information effectively to diverse audiences
Knowledge of health economics and pharmaceutical environment within healthcare systems
Technical expertise in therapeutic areas with capacity to interpret and discuss clinical data
Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight stays
Fluent English proficiency; demonstrated compliance with regulations and company policies
