Teatro alla Scala is announcing an international competition for a First Oboe position, which includes the obligation to perform second and additional parts. This position corresponds to the 2nd level in the artistic area as per the current collective bargaining agreement, with an annual gross salary of €82,229.20. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold citizenship from an EU country or have a long-term residence permit if from outside the EU. A diploma from a conservatory or an equivalent qualification is required, along with physical fitness for the role, which will be verified through a medical examination.
The selection process will include multiple phases,
and candidates will be informed of the examination details at least 15 days prior to the scheduled dates.
The examination will take place on December 1 and 2, 2026, and will consist of various performance tests. Candidates are expected to bring valid identification and may be required to perform anonymously. The final ranking will be established by the judging commission, and the selected candidate must provide necessary documentation within 30 days of notification. The appointment is contingent upon the regularization of residency status in Italy for employment purposes.
