R&D; Team Lead
In this role, you will join the Product Care team within ABB Smart Buildings, contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of our People Protection product portfolio. You will work across the product development cycle, from concept generation and 3D design to engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, and industrialization support. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and manufacturing teams, applying modern engineering tools, digital technologies, and Artificial Intelligence solutions to solve technical challenges and improve product development processes.

This is a temporary contract position.
This role is contributing to the People Protection product portfolio within ABB Smart Buildings in Vittuone (Milan), Italy. Main stakeholders are R&D;, Product Care, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, laboratories, and suppliers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Supporting Product Care activities for existing products, ensuring technical robustness, quality, competitiveness, and continuous improvement.
* Developing and modifying 3D CAD models and technical documentation, as well as performing engineering studies and simulations to evaluate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
* Designing, building, and validating prototypes in collaboration with laboratories, suppliers, and manufacturing teams, while supporting root cause analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
