We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design of complex mechanical systems for engine, module, and component testing across both Civil and Military programs. In this role, you will join the Military Product Line Engineering team, taking end-to-end responsibility for assigned test rig mechanical design activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers across Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Program Management, ensuring alignment with design intent and certification requirements where applicable. This position offers strong visibility and the opportunity to build a broad network across AvioAero and GE Aerospace. /ph3Essential Responsibilities /h3ulliCapture system requirements and translate them into test rig design definition /liliExecute the design, analysis, and evaluation of Mechanical Test Enabling Hardware that meets business standards, practices and procedures as well as the product/program requirements, in line with decisions concurred at Systems level /liliCreate and develop new mechanical design concepts with the use of CAD tools /liliFollow recommended approach to meet the technical and program requirements /liliDevelop in-depth knowledge of technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy /liliContribute to formulating and executing plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments /liliAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures /liliParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews /liliProactively support and coordinate activities with manufacturing departments and Suppliers in order to guarantee on time and on quality hardware procurement /li /ulh3Required Qualifications /h3ulliMaster’s Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering /liliPrevious proven experience in design of complex mechanical systems /liliGood knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations /liliGood knowledge of Advanced CAD Systems (preferable NX Teamcenter) /liliGood knowledge of complex 2D and 3D shapes modelling CAD techniques /liliBasic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) /liliBasic knowledge of Stress Analysis, Structure Dynamics simulation techniques and Rotor-Dynamics Fundamentals /liliStrong technical attitude and problem-solving skills /liliAbility to prioritize the working tasks /liliFluency in English and Italian language, both written and oral /liliWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required /li /ulh3Desired Characteristics /h3ulliKnowledge of aeronautical aero-engines components or modules, technical requirements, design solutions, technologies /liliExperience on structure stress analysis /liliCapable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience /liliCuriosity and passion for mechanical design /li /ulh3Why Join Us /h3pAt Avio Aero, people power our progress.
