Build an AI company, not just another product
Nexa is partnering with an early-stage AI venture to appoint a Technical Co-Founder / Founding CTO.
The company is building an AI-native B2B platform designed to transform how organisations manage complex commercial workflows, engage prospective customers and convert opportunities into revenue.
This isn't an idea waiting to be validated.
An MVP has already been developed and tested with an established enterprise commercial partner in Italy. The next challenge is to turn that early validation into a scalable, commercially successful technology business.
We're looking for a technical founder who wants to take ownership of that journey.
The opportunity
You will join as a genuine co-founder, working alongside the commercial leadership to define the product, technology and long-term direction of the business.
You will inherit an initial MVP rather than start with a blank page, but you will have significant freedom to shape the architecture, product experience and technical roadmap.
The immediate priorities will be to evolve the MVP, deepen the product's AI capabilities, learn from enterprise customer feedback and build the foundations for commercial scale.
This is a hands-on founding position, not a conventional CTO role managing an established engineering department.
What you'll own
Product and technology
- Take ownership of the technical vision and product architecture.
- Evolve the existing MVP into a reliable, scalable commercial platform.
- Work directly with the commercial founder to translate customer needs into product priorities.
- Make pragmatic decisions about architecture, infrastructure and development.
- Establish the technical foundations for a growing B2B SaaS business.
- Develop intelligent workflows and AI-powered automation.
- Build and integrate LLM-based capabilities where they create measurable customer value.
- Design reliable APIs and integrations with enterprise systems.
- Establish appropriate AI evaluation, monitoring, security and data governance.
- Move quickly from experimentation to production.
Company building
- Participate in commercial and strategic decisions as a founding member of the business.
- Engage directly with customers and commercial partners.
- Recruit and develop the initial engineering team as the company grows.
- Contribute to fundraising and investor discussions.
- Help establish the company's engineering culture and operating model.
Who we're looking for
You are a technically exceptional builder who wants the responsibility and ownership of founding a company.
You may currently be a Founding Engineer,
Engineering Lead, Head of Engineering, CTO or an experienced engineer preparing for your next entrepreneurial venture.
We are particularly interested in people who have:
- Built and shipped production SaaS products.
- Strong full-stack or backend engineering experience.
- Practical experience developing AI-powered applications.
- Worked with LLMs, APIs, workflow automation or agentic systems.
- Experience building products in early-stage environments.
- Strong product instincts and commercial curiosity.
- The ability to work independently and make decisions with incomplete information.
- An interest in becoming a genuine business-building partner, not simply the most senior engineer.
Previous experience with B2B SaaS, enterprise integrations, sales technology or commercial workflow automation would be valuable.
You do not need to have been a CTO before. What matters is that you can build, lead and take genuine ownership of the technology.
