We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design of complex mechanical systems for engine, module, and component testing across both Civil and Military programs. In this role, you will join the Military Product Line Engineering team, taking end-to-end responsibility for assigned test rig mechanical design activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers across Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Program Management, ensuring alignment with design intent and certification requirements where applicable. Lo scopra leggendo la panoramica del ruolo qui sotto.Essential ResponsibilitiesCapture system requirements and translate them into test rig design definitionExecute the design, analysis, and evaluation of Mechanical Test Enabling Hardware that meets business standards, practices and procedures as well as the product/program requirements, in line with decisions concurred at Systems levelCreate and develop new mechanical design concepts with the use of CAD toolsFollow recommended approach to meet the technical and program requirementsDevelop in-depth knowledge of technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategyContribute to formulating and executing plans to achieve technical requirements,



schedules and contract commitmentsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsProactively support and coordinate activities with manufacturing departments and Suppliers in order to guarantee on time and on quality hardware procurementRequired QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical EngineeringPrevious proven experience in design of complex mechanical systemsGood knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculationsGood knowledge of Advanced CAD Systems (preferable NX & Teamcenter)Good knowledge of complex 2D and 3D shapes modelling CAD techniquesBasic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)Basic knowledge of Stress Analysis, Structure Dynamics simulation techniques and Rotor-Dynamics FundamentalsStrong technical attitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize the working tasksFluency in English and Italian language, both written and oralWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge of aeronautical aero-engines components or modules, technical requirements, design solutions, technologiesExperience on structure stress analysisCapable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experienceCuriosity and passion for mechanical designWhy Join UsAt Avio Aero, people power our progress.
