These biomimetic systems will be engineered as giant lipid vesicles containing biological organelles, purified enzymes, and synthetic components.

The functional integration of these elements will enable the creation of artificial metabolic networks and microreactors capable of exploiting CO₂ fixation for the production of high-value compounds. The researcher will contribute to the cultivation of cyanobacterial strains, the isolation of functional carboxysomes, and the expression and characterization of enzymes from different organisms to be employed in the construction of synthetic metabolic pathways.
