Are you a System and Network Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on one of Europe’s most strategic space programmes?
Would you like to contribute to the operation and maintenance of the Galileo Ground Segment, working in a mission-critical environment where network and IT infrastructure play a key role?
We are looking for a System and Network Engineer to join our team in Fucino, Italy , supporting the Galileo Ground Segment and the GCS – Network Services activities.
You will work on the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network and system infrastructure, contributing to the reliability and continuous operation of the services supporting the Galileo programme.

Fucino Space Center – Fucino, Italy
This is a full-time, on-site position .
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
✅ Education & Experience A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is considered an advantage
At least 1 year of professional experience in a technical IT environment, with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Network Engineering
- Network Administration
- System Administration
- IT Infrastructure
Previous experience in the Galileo programme is considered a strong advantage, although previous aerospace experience is not mandatory . ✅ Technical Skills
- Experience in networking , including:
- Hands-on management of switches, routers, firewalls and cabling.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and VPN management.
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of system administration
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies , such as VMware or equivalent solutions
- Ability to troubleshoot and investigate network and system issues
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure maintenance and configuration
- Ability to work across both network and system administration activities
✅ Soft Skills
- Proactive and structured approach to problem solving
- Ability to work effectively in a technical and operational environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage technical activities in accordance with established procedures
- Fluent English – minimum B1 level
WHAT YOU WILL DO As a System and Network Engineer , you will support the Galileo Ground Segment and GCS – Network Services activities, contributing to the reliable operation and maintenance of the network and IT infrastructure.
? Network Infrastructure Management
- Support the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure
- Work with switches, firewalls, and network cabling
- Support the identification and resolution of network-related issues
- Contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of network services
? System Administration
- Support the administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure
- Assist with system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with network and system teams to ensure the correct integration and operation of infrastructure components
? Virtualisation & Infrastructure Support
- Support virtualised environments using VMware or equivalent technologies
- Contribute to the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of virtualised systems
- Support infrastructure changes and technical activities related to system and network services
? Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to daily operational activities and technical troubleshooting
- Support the investigation and resolution of anomalies
- Collaborate with the project team and relevant stakeholders to ensure the reliability and availability of the infrastructure
- Follow established operational, maintenance, and configuration procedures

Salary range: € 30,000 - € 50,000 gross annual salary , depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
On-call / shift work: Not required.
