NATIONAL CUSTOMS MANAGER

Main activities

- Ensure and oversee the correct application of Italian and European customs regulations.
- Manage and supervise Customs Compliance and Customs Valuation matters, providing expert support in the most complex cases.
- Coordinate the operational and organizational activities typically associated with a Customs Broker.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve customs procedures and processes, promoting high standards of efficiency and compliance.
- Manage relationships with the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency, coordinating customs audits, inspections, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with Senior Management and department leaders to support business needs and objectives.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Customs team, fostering professional growth and capability development.
- Support business development through a consultative approach, understanding clients' needs and translating them into operational and strategic customs solutions.

Requirements

Must have

- Significant experience in managerial or leadership roles within the customs field.
- In-depth knowledge of Italian and EU customs regulations.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with Customs Authorities and oversee customs audits and compliance reviews.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and people management.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties, including regulatory bodies and authorities.




- Good command of the English language.

Nice to have

- Customs Broker License (Italian Customs Declarant License).

Compensation Package

Permanent full-time employment under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Commerce Sector (CCNL Commercio), Executive Level ("Quadro"), with a gross annual salary ranging between €45,000 and €55,000.
