Job Summary
The Application Specialist will support the ESS Centrifugal Solutions business by developing competitive, technically robust proposals for engineered centrifugal compressor solutions serving the Petrochemical, Air Separation, Power Generation, and Oil & Gas industries.
This role will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, suppliers, and customers to translate complex customer requirements into clear technical and commercial solutions that support win rate, profitability, and customer value.
The position combines technical application expertise, proposal ownership, cross-functional coordination, and commercial awareness, offering strong exposure to global EPCs, strategic customers, and complex engineered project opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop competitive technical and commercial proposals, including scope definition, pricing inputs, delivery assumptions, clarifications, deviations, documentation requirements, and third-party supplier content.
- Review customer specifications, process data, contractual inputs, and commercial conditions to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimized equipment selection and proposal strategy.
- Act as a key technical interface for Sales and customers during the quotation phase, providing application guidance, technical explanations, and timely responses to customer.
- Define proposal strategies with the sales team to strengthen competitive positioning, improve customer alignment, and maximize the probability of profitable order capture.
- Build and maintain application knowledge of centrifugal compression technologies, auxiliary systems, and key vertical markets to support customer discussions, technical meetings, project handovers, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, and external suppliers to align technical feasibility, commercial commitments, delivery expectations, and project execution requirements.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of AI-based tools and digital solutions to streamline the tendering process, enhance proposal quality, and reduce quotation lead time.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering,
Contract Engineering, Product Management, Technical Sales, Tendering, or a related role involving engineered equipment.
- Solid understanding of customer specifications, industry standards, engineering codes, and technical documentation, with the ability to develop clear comments, clarifications, and deviations. Familiarity with API 672, API 617, and API 614 is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of centrifugal compressor technology and auxiliary systems; experience with rotating equipment, Air Separation, Petrochemical, Power Generation, or Oil & Gas applications is preferred.

Salary Range: 29 700 € - 53 250 €
