pThe American University of Rome (AUR) invites applications for a full-time Assistant/ Associate Professor in the Psychology program, beginning Fall ****.
/p pAURoffers aBA in Psychology that provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the study of human behavior and mental processes.
We seek an accomplished scholar-teacher whose research and teaching will contribute to the growth of the program.
The successful candidate will oversee and promote the visibility of the program, demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, mentorship, and academic citizenship, lead curriculum development and assessment activities, engage with external stakeholders, collaborate with faculty and staff, and maintain an active scholarly agenda.

inin Psychology /li liExperience teaching in an American university context.
/li liAdministrative experience in an academic setting.
/li liRecord of scholarly research and publication.
/li liFamiliarity with course instructional technologies and online course management systems.
/li liA strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level in a small-class environment with active learning techniques.
/li liExcellent oral and written English.
/li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience in an American liberal-arts environment.
/li liInternational experience.
/li liArea of specialization is open, but individuals with applied and interdisciplinary interests are strongly encouraged to apply /li liProfessional experiencein counseling or related areas /li /ul h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liTeach research methods, core classes in psychology, and program electives.
/li liServe (in rotation) as Program Director.
/li liServe the University through membership on committees and other normal faculty functions.
/li liMaintainand pursue active research and/or professional agenda, particularly with the potential for involving undergraduate students.




/li liContribute to the development of an innovative,state-of-the-artprogram and curriculum.
/li liAdvise andmonitorthe progress of students;advisestudent clubs related to the discipline.
/li liContribute to the organization and promotion of the program and its activities (e.g., seminars,conferencesand publications).
Collaborate withadmissions and enrollment in promoting the program to potential students.
/li liEngage in networking activities in Italy and Europe; and show capacity, knowledge, and/or willingness to attract resources (e.g., visiting professors; partnerships with companies).
