Overview

In this role, you will lead and grow AECOM’s energy business in Italy, driving market development, client relationships, and technical leadership across engineering and environmental services. You will shape strategic direction for renewable energy, transmission and distribution, and storage projects with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy transition. You’ll collaborate with Europe-wide Energy Sector teams to deliver high-impact, on-time results and attract top talent. This is a mission-driven opportunity to influence Italy’s energy landscape at scale.

Responsabilità

- Lead, manage and grow the energy business in Italy
- Drive project delivery excellence with on-time, on-budget, high-quality results
- Collaborate with Energy Sector teams across Europe
- Develop and implement a strategy to strengthen presence in the Italian energy market
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, permitting, environmental) and interact with stakeholders
- Foster a culture of engagement and retention; attract senior talent
- Act as trusted advisor to clients, delivering innovative energy and sustainability solutions
- Manage strategic relationships with utilities, developers,



IPP, investment funds, and EPC contractors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; prepare technical and economic proposals for tenders
- Monitor Italian regulatory and legislative trends to anticipate opportunities
- Provide strategic insights to position AECOM as a leader in energy transition
- Participate in institutional roundtables and industry initiatives

Requisiti fondamentali

- Master in Engineering; registration with the Order of Engineers
- At least 10 years of experience in the energy sector
- Experience in renewable energy production (wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass)
- Experience in energy transport and distribution (grids, smart grids)
- Experience with storage systems (batteries, hydrogen, thermal)
- Business development experience including market analysis and client relationship management
- Fluent in Italian and English; other languages advantageous
- Deep knowledge of the Italian market, including authorization processes and grid connections
- Excellent leadership, team management, and results orientation
