We are working with a market leading insurance Underwriter seeking an Tax Associate in Milan. It is entering an exciting period of exponential growth. This position is a great opportunity to join a growing company and gain exposure to all facets of the insurance industry.

What is the role?
This is an opportunity with a market leading underwriter for an experienced Tax Lawyer to build a career in the Insurance industry whilst still utilising their legal experience.

What will you be doing?

Reviewing and negotiating tax insurance policy wordings on Italian and European transactions.

Responding to insured counsel comments and proposed amendments to policy language

Drafting bespoke endorsements, exclusions, limitations, and tax-specific coverage provisions

Advising underwriters internally on wording risk and legal interpretation issue

Stress-testing wording against potential claims scenarios and litigation outcomes





Helping maintain and update precedent wordings, clause libraries, and internal knowledge resources

Working closely with tax underwriters and claims teams on complex technical points

Assessing whether requested wording changes materially alter the insurer’s risk position

Analysing transaction documents (SPAs, disclosure letters, tax deeds, structuring memos)

What do you need to apply?

3+ years of tax experience from a law firm or equivalent in-house role.

Strong tax technical knowledge

Advanced drafting and redlining skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment without compromising on quality.
