Role Description This Freelance Social Media Manager role is a contract position based in Bologna with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a blend of on-site presence and work from home. The role involves planning, creating, and publishing engaging content tailored to LinkedIn and other relevant platforms, aligned with the Ministry’s communication guidelines and objectives. Day-to-day tasks include managing the content calendar, drafting posts, coordinating visual assets with designers, monitoring audience engagement, and responding to comments or inquiries in a professional manner. The Social Media Manager will track performance metrics, prepare periodic reports, and suggest data-driven improvements to increase reach and engagement. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant messaging is an essential part of this role.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in social media management, including content planning, posting, and community engagement for professional or institutional accounts.




• Strong skills in copywriting and editing in English, with the ability to create clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content for LinkedIn and other platforms.
• Familiarity with social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to optimize campaigns and content performance.
• Understanding of public sector or highly regulated environments, with attention to accuracy, compliance, and reputational considerations.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a hybrid setting (Bologna-based with partial remote work).
• Prior experience with government, energy, sustainability, or policy-related communication is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
