In this role you will contribute hands-on to the design, development, testing, and commercialization of advanced optical technologies.
You will design PICs and optical modules, build and run experiments, and drive test plans from concept to manufacturing.
You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance photonics solutions for next-generation networking.

Responsabilità
Design, simulate, and optimize photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and optical modules for telecoms and related photonics applications
Develop and implement discrete optical test setups for component, subsystem, and system-level testing
Define, execute, and document optical test plans with measurement methodologies and data analysis
Use Python scripting to automate tests, control lab instruments, and analyze data
Support transition of optical products from R&D; to manufacturing ensuring scalability and quality
Collaborate with hardware, electronics, software, systems, and manufacturing teams to resolve cross-disciplinary challenges
Analyze optical performance data and recommend design optimizations and product improvements
Identify technical risks, troubleshoot complex optical issues,



and drive root-cause analysis
Contribute to continuous improvement of product design, testing methodologies, and processes
Provide technical guidance to project teams to enable successful development programs
Requisiti fondamentali
5+ years hands-on experience designing, testing, and optimizing photonic and optical systems
Proficiency in PIC design and simulation using Lumerical, VPIphotonics, or equivalent tools
Experience with optical amplification technologies (EDFA, Raman, SOA)
Python proficiency for instrument control, automation, and data processing
Hands-on experience with optical characterization and calibration equipment (OSA, power meters, tunable lasers, polarization controllers)
Experience with fiber-optic technologies (alignment, coupling, splicing, integration with photonic devices)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to troubleshoot complex systems
Strong written and verbal communication in English
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Experience with product transfer from R&D; to manufacturing (nice to have)
Experience in Agile environments and familiarity with Git (nice to have)
Experience in telecommunications, optical transport, or high-technology product development (nice to have)
