Section Double Bass Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia•Rome, Italy Apply / Visit Website Contact About this opportunity Fondazione Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is conducting an international public competition to hire a Section Double Bass under an open-ended contract. The position requires candidates to hold a Conservatory diploma or an equivalent qualification and be at least 18 years old. Eligible candidates include Italian and EU citizens, as well as non-EU nationals legally residing in Italy or an EU country.
The minimum gross annual salary for this position is €55,000. Candidates must submit their applications online by November 5, 2026, along with a detailed curriculum vitae. The selection process includes an anonymous elimination audition followed by a final audition, which will take place from November 20 to November 23, 2026, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. The examination program includes performances of specific concertos and orchestral passages,



with the possibility of sight reading.
The competition results will be published on the Fondazione's website, and the merit rankings will be valid for 24 months. The winning candidate will be required to submit various documents upon hiring and will undergo a trial period of up to six months. The employment relationship will be governed by the national collective bargaining agreement for employees of Fondazione Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
