We are a publishing company looking for an author, writer, or teacher with an excellent command of both Italian and Japanese to help us create a new book series for Italian speakers who want to learn Japanese.
The Project
The series will include:
- Books for complete beginners
- Textbooks for intermediate and advanced learners
- Workbooks and exercise books
- Explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and language structures
- Practical examples, dialogues, and progressive exercises
- Cultural content to help readers better understand the Japanese language and its context
Our goal is to create clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow learning materials specifically designed for Italian readers.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate:
- Has an excellent command of both Italian and Japanese
- Is preferably a native speaker of both languages or has advanced or equivalent proficiency
- Has experience teaching Italian or Japanese, preferably to Italian students
- Can explain linguistic and grammatical concepts clearly and progressively
- Can create original lessons, examples, dialogues, and exercises
- Writes Italian clearly, accurately, and naturally
- Understands the most common challenges Italian speakers face when learning Japanese
- Is detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in contributing to a long-term publishing project
The following qualifications would be an advantage:
- Experience as a language teacher
- A background in linguistics, language education, translation, Japanese studies, or a related field
- Experience writing textbooks, courses, teaching materials, or other educational content
- Knowledge of the different JLPT levels
- Experience in publishing, editing, proofreading, or content review
Main Responsibilities
The selected candidate will collaborate with our team to:
- Plan the structure of the different books in the series
- Write lessons and explanations appropriate for each proficiency level
- Create examples, dialogues, exercises, and answer keys
- Verify the linguistic and cultural accuracy of the content
- Review and improve materials based on editorial feedback
- Ensure consistency and continuity across the different volumes
This is a long-term collaboration with the opportunity to work on multiple books over time.
