Context & Objectives
Working for a specialized AI consulting firm serving enterprise clients, you will play a key role in delivering modern, cloud-native platforms. We aim to move our clients' applications from legacy hosting to containerized, scalable and automated environments running on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
The goal is to bridge the gap between application development and platform operations, ensuring that our clients agevolazioni from faster deployments, more reliable workloads and a secure, well-documented container platform.
Expected Services
- Containerization: Design, build and optimize Docker images and multi-stage builds to containerize existing applications and services.
- Orchestration & Platform Deployment: Deploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes and OpenShift using manifests, Helm charts and Operators, including routes, ingress, scaling and resource management.
- CI/CD & Automation: Build robust pipelines to automate build, test, image scanning and deployment, following GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Security & Compliance (Enterprise Standard)
Given the sensitive nature of client workloads and data, the following requirements are non-negotiable:
- Image & Supply Chain Security: Use of minimal, trusted base images, vulnerability scanning and image signing,
with no secrets embedded in images or repositories.
- Access Control: Strict management of RBAC, Security Context Constraints (SCC) and service accounts, applying the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP).
- Auditability: Ensuring clusters, pipelines and deployments generate comprehensive logs and audit trails for compliance tracking.
- Regulatory Alignment: Familiarity with standards such as GDPR, ISO 27001 or SOC2 as they apply to cloud-based and containerized environments.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Docker & Kubernetes: Deep knowledge of container lifecycle, networking, storage, Helm and cluster troubleshooting (CKA / CKAD a plus).
- OpenShift Experience: Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (Routes, Operators, BuildConfigs, SCCs, OpenShift Pipelines / GitOps) and CI/CD tooling for automated delivery.
- Software Development Foundations: Solid programming skills (e.g. Python, Go, Java or Node.js), Linux and scripting expertise, and experience with observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) in production environments.
Expected Deliverables
- Containerized Applications & Pipelines: Production-ready Docker images, Helm charts and CI/CD pipelines deployed on the client's Kubernetes / OpenShift environment.
- Security & Architecture Documentation: A brief security assessment for each workload, including architecture and data flow diagrams and risk mitigations.
- Handover Report: Final transition of manifests, pipelines, configuration, runbooks and administrative controls.
