Pubblicato il 13-10-2026 - Universita degli Studi dell'Insubria in Como
OverviewThe University of Insubria (Lake Como) invites expressions of interest for a postdoctoral position in Quantum Optics within the QUP – Quantum and Ultrafast Photonics group, led by Profs. Lucia Caspani and Matteo Clerici. The group is part of the Como Lake Institute of Photonics (CLIP) at the Department of Science and High Technology.Si candidi qui sotto dopo aver letto tutti i dettagli e le informazioni di supporto relative a questa occasione di lavoro. This position is funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant QuNIm, which investigates how entangled photons can enhance multiphoton light-matter interactions. Applications span nonlinear imaging and biophotonics, with a particular focus on two-photon absorption and second-harmonic generation.ResponsibilitiesThis is a full-time on-site role located in Como for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum/Nonlinear Optics. The successful candidate will design and implement experimental setups for the generation and characterization of bright squeezed states using intense ultrafast lasers,
to enable entanglement-driven two-photon absorption and second harmonic generation. The position includes generous support for travel, research activities and publications, offering excellent opportunities for scientific visibility and career growth.Candidate profileWe seek enthusiastic and motivated applicants with an experimental background in quantum optics and/or nonlinear optics, preferably with hands-on experience with ultrafast lasers. A PhD in Physics or a closely related field is required.Appointment TermsDuration: 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance.Expected Start: Fall/Winter 2025 (flexible and negotiable).Application ProcessApplicants should submit the following by October 1, 2025:Cover Letter (max. xysqume 1 page) outlining research interests and fit with the projectCurriculum VitaeContact information for referencesApplications and inquiries should be addressed to: Prof. Lucia Caspani, #J-18808-Ljbffr
