CUSTOMS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Main activities
-
- Ensure and oversee the correct application of Italian and European customs regulations.
- Manage and supervise Customs Compliance and Customs Valuation matters, providing expert support in the most complex cases.
- Coordinate the operational and organizational activities typically associated with a Customs Broker.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve customs procedures and processes, promoting high standards of efficiency and compliance.
- Manage relationships with the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency, coordinating customs audits, inspections, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with Senior Management and department leaders to support business needs and objectives.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Customs team, fostering professional growth and capability development.
- Support business development through a consultative approach, understanding clients' needs and translating them into operational and strategic customs solutions.
Requirements
Must have
-
- Proven experience in the operational management of customs clearance processes;
- Sound knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements;
- Ability to independently manage import/export customs procedures;
- Knowledge of customs documentation and clearance procedures;
- Ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, Customs Brokers, and Customs Authorities;
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities;
- Good command of IT tools and customs/logistics management systems;
Nice to have
-
- Customs Broker License (Italian Customs Declarant License).
- Good knowledge of English;
Compensation Package
Permanent full-time employment under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Commerce Sector (CCNL Commercio), Executive Level ("Quadro"), with a gross annual salary ranging between €45,000 and €50,000.
