Our client is an established international manufacturer of semiconductor test and reliability equipment, supplying leading chipmakers worldwide, particularly in the automotive and high-reliability markets. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Application Engineer to join their Application Development team.
The role
Reporting to the Application Development Manager, you will develop and validate test applications for customers’ semiconductor devices, taking each project from hardware design through to final validation. It’s a hands‑on, technically varied role that combines hardware, software and direct customer contact.
Key responsibilities

- Designing test boards (schematic design)
- Developing test patterns and test programs
- Integrating the test board, test program and device under test (DUT),
including debug and validation of applications across temperature
- Producing, managing and archiving all technical documentation for each project
- Managing in-house qualification services
What you’ll bring
-
- A degree in Electronic Engineering
- Knowledge of the different technology families of electronic and semiconductor devices
- Experience with DxDesigner and Expedition (or similar xbvzest schematic/PCB design tools)
- Programming skills in C/C++
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability on complex technical issues
- Confidence communicating and working directly with customers
- The ability to stay effective under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Fluent Italian and good working English (preferred)
