Job Description:

Position Summary
The “Engineer, Mechatronics V&V;” plays a key operational role in the company’s Rovereto Technology Center laboratory, which represents a strategic asset for technology development, verification, and validation. The position combines hands‑on laboratory testing with mechanical design responsibilities, including the development of prototype components and custom test bench fixtures using CAD tools.

The engineer manages verification and validation activities end-to-end, from Test Request review and test definition to setup implementation, execution, data analysis, and reporting. In addition to technical testing responsibilities, the role actively contributes to the effective day‑to‑day management of the laboratory, supporting equipment logistics, workspace organization, 5S implementation, and HSE compliance.

Operating within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team, the position involves frequent interaction with multiple company functions and organizational levels, including leadership, and directly supports informed decision‑making throughout the product development lifecycle.

Main Responsibilites

Support and independently manage verification and validation activities for mechanical, hydraulic and mechatronic components within the Technology Center laboratory

Review and assess Test Requests, ensuring clarity, technical feasibility, and alignment with project requirements

Define test concepts, methodologies, and procedures, including objectives, test conditions, and acceptance criteria

Design mechanical components, prototypes, and custom test bench fixtures using CAD tools, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with workshop capabilities

Implement and assemble laboratory test setups, coordinating with internal workshops and relevant stakeholders as needed

Execute laboratory tests in compliance with defined procedures, safety rules, and quality standards

Collect, process, and analyze test data using appropriate data analysis tools

Prepare clear, structured, and technically sound test reports, submitting results for review and approval to the Lab Manager

Play a key operational role in the correct day‑to‑day management of the laboratory, including equipment logistics, workspace organization, and 5S implementation

Actively contribute to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to applicable procedures and regulations

Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g. R&D;, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) to support product development and validation activities

Main opportunities and challenges:

Opportunity to work within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary Engineering team, fostering continuous technical learning and knowledge exchange

Active involvement in a Technology Center laboratory recognized as a strategic asset for technology development, verification, and validation

Frequent interaction with multiple company functions (e.g. R&D;, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality) and exposure to different organizational levels, including leadership

High level of hands‑on responsibility, managing verification and validation activities end‑to‑end and contributing directly to technical decision‑making

Opportunity to influence laboratory effectiveness through continuous improvement of test setups, workflows, 5S practices, and HSE compliance

Challenge of balancing technical rigor, safety, and quality standards with project timelines, priorities, and resource constraints

Requirement to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment, maintaining strong ownership of both testing outcomes and laboratory operations
