Role Description The Life Science Foresight Lead is a full-time, on-site role at TEF’s offices in Milan. You will look for promising pre-commercial research in cardiometabolic disease (CMD) and the wider life sciences at universities, research institutes and hospitals across Europe, with a focus on Italy. You will promote TEF’s open calls and run first-stage evaluation and due diligence, covering science, feasibility, commercial potential, IP and team.

You will also help set up portfolio reporting and governance,



and support projects on their way to becoming companies by connecting them with expertise, resources and a network that spans academia, CROs, VCs and industry.

Qualifications

- PhD (or equivalent) in Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering or a related field, ideally with a CMD focus.
- 5+ years of post-PhD experience in life science innovation, for example in VC, a tech transfer office, an accelerator, or pharma/biotech R&D.;
- Solid understanding of drug discovery and development, and/or experience commercialising research.
- Experience with scientific due diligence and with research intelligence databases.
- Project management experience, ideally taking drug discovery projects toward IND-enabling stage.
- Fluent English and Italian.
- A structured, entrepreneurial thinker and strong communicator who is comfortable owning work in a fast-moving environment.
