# Environmental Officer ## Shipside Career Are you passionate about protecting our oceans, driving environmental excellence and helping teams operate responsibly every day? Drive success, Live your ambition. ## What You Will Do #### Environmental Compliance & Monitoring * Monitor compliance with environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. * Conduct inspections across shipboard areas and verify proper waste management practices. * Review environmental records, sampling activities and operational documentation. #### Guidance, Training & Continuous Improvement * Provide guidance and training to onboard teams on environmental procedures and best practices. * Promote environmental awareness, sustainability initiatives and ISO 14001 standards. * Support audits, inspections and corrective action processes following environmental findings or incidents. #### Reporting & Support * Prepare environmental compliance reports and maintain accurate records. * Support environmental incident reporting and ship visits conducted by Fleet Environmental Officers. * Contribute to emergency preparedness and a strong onboard safety culture. ## Who You Are #### Required * Served as a Marine Engineering Officer at the rank of 2nd Engineer or higher; or as a Deck Officer at the rank of 2nd Officer or higher; or as a former Navy or Coast Guard engineer at Chief Petty Officer rank or higher. * Alternatively, an engineering degree with at least three years of relevant experience operating or maintaining pollution-prevention systems comparable to those used on cruise ships; or an environmental science-related degree with at least three years of relevant industry experience. * Proven technical, organizational or environmental protection experience, preferably in the marine or shipping industry. * Successful completion of the annual Corporate Environmental Officer training. * Mandatory certifications and training in accordance with HR 6001 – Annex 1. * English knowledge at least at B2 level. * Skilled user of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

To that amount shall be added variable items, when applicable. Further details will be provided on the first contact.
