Overview In this role you design and evaluate aerothermodynamics for space re-entry scenarios, developing CFD models and protecting vehicles with optimized TPS. You work within the Thermal & Environmental Control and Propulsion department to define requirements and support R&D.; You translate complex aerothermal data into reliable loads and design choices, while coordinating test campaigns. Your work contributes to mission success and advances space vehicle performance. You join a multidisciplinary team driving innovative solutions for space exploration and defense.
Responsabilità * Assess and define system and mission requirements * Perform CFD modelling and flow-field simulations; quantify aerothermal loads * Define thermal protection systems and preliminarily evaluate TPS performance * Preliminary design optimization of thermal protection and related structures * Oversee test campaigns and ensure data quality * Create aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics databases for control * Support and manage R&D; activities Requisiti fondamentali * Master degree in Aerospace Engineering or Physics * Experience in CFD; industrial or academic background * Solid fundamentals in fluid dynamics and aerothermodynamics * Proficiency in programming (Fortran, C++); Matlab * Knowledge of CFD tools (Metacomp CFD++, Ansys Fluent or equivalent) is a plus * Team orientation; curiosity, proactivity, autonomy * Multidisciplinary engineering mindset (fluid-dynamics, thermal, mission analysis, flight dynamics) * Good English (spoken and written) * Willingness to travel for business * teamwork * curiosity * proactivity * CFD modelling * aerothermodynamics * Fortran
