This position supports NAVFAC EURAFCENT facilities, construction, and program requirements. The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting U. S. Navy and Department of Defense projects in Europe and will be employed locally through a third-party employer of record.
Position Summary
The Design Architect provides architectural design, technical review, and post-award support for Navy and Marine Corps facilities. The role supports new construction, renovation, modernization, and maintenance projects from programming and concept development through construction completion. This is a full-time, primarily on-site position located in Naples, Italy.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Develop architectural and interior plans, specifications, programming studies, space plans, concepts, and code compliance analyses Support housing, community, medical, educational, maintenance, industrial, hangar, administrative, and command-and-control facilities Prepare and review design submittals at conceptual, 35%, 50%, prefinal, and final stages Apply Do D and Navy criteria,
Unified Facilities Criteria, Unified Facilities Guide Specifications, the International Building Code, NFPA 101, sustainability requirements, accessibility criteria, and host-nation regulations Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, environmental, security, utility, real estate, and cost disciplines Conduct field investigations and participate in design reviews and coordination meetings Review shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, design clarifications, changes, claims, and post-award construction issues Develop or review scopes of work, cost estimates, technical reports, schedules, presentations, and project records Coordinate with host-nation authorities, designers, installation stakeholders, and government teams Key Qualifications Legal Work Authorization: Must already have the legal right to work in the country of the assigned duty sta
