Design Consulting
Design Consulting is looking for an engineer to support failure analysis, issue resolution and project planning for high-voltage electric powertrain systems in the automotive sector.
Location: Near Bologna, Italy, with availability for occasional short business trips.
Key responsibilities
Investigate field-returned components and analyse quality claims to identify recurring failures and root causes.
Coordinate corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, quality, aftersales and suppliers.
Prepare product FMEAs and support technical risk assessments.
Develop and maintain project plans for eDrive and HV battery systems.
Monitor milestones, deliverables, KPIs, schedules and cost targets.
Track engineering changes and assess their impact on timing, costs and system integration.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical,
Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within automotive quality, reliability, product engineering or field claim management.
Knowledge of HV batteries, inverters and electric motors/eDrive systems.
Experience in failure investigation and structured problem-solving methods: 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys and FMEA.
Mandatory PES/PAV electrical safety training.
Strong project planning skills using MS Project, cPlace or equivalent tools.
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Agile methodologies.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Fluent Italian and English; German is a plus.
