a Dirty Dozen
We're looking for founding members who will shape the direction the community takes, before the numbers start to take off, if they ever do.
Fully remote. Open to all nationalities and locations: where you live doesn't matter, what you can do does.
ABOUT US The Dirty Dozen is a tight knot of cybersecurity specialists and AI researchers who don't feel they belong in a big lab, or who've struggled with credentials and pedigree. We break AI systems, defend them, and say plainly what we find.
The aim is a guild: a member-run community that protects its craft, trains newcomers, and one day negotiates paid work on behalf of its members, with transparent rules and fair pay.
We're at the very beginning. That's the point of this post.
THE ROLE: FOUNDING MEMBER
Founding members set the foundations everything else is built on. You'll help:
- Write the rules: the constitution, the code of conduct, how decisions are made
- Build the learning path for newcomers
- Choose and set up where the community lives (Discord, forum, repo)
- Publish the first pieces of work: write-ups,
findings, guides
- Find and welcome the next members
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Red, blue or purple teamers, AI security researchers, alignment and evals people
- Self-taught, career-changers, independents, people outside the big labs
- People with work you can point to: a write-up, a repo, a CTF result, a bug report, anything real
- People who speak plainly.
You don't need a degree, a famous employer or a polished CV.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- This is a volunteer role. There's no pay today, and we won't pretend otherwise.
- Time commitment: a few hours a week, flexible and fully remote.
- Founding members get a real say in what the community becomes, and a place at its core if the guild takes shape.
