Senior IT Program Manager

HCLTech is looking for an experienced Senior IT Program Manager to lead complex technology programs for one of our international clients in Rome, Italy.
This position requires a strong program management background, with the ability to oversee multiple interconnected projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery against business objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strategic program oversight with hands-on delivery management and experience working in Agile and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Governance
- Lead and oversee complex IT programs comprising multiple projects and workstreams.
- Establish program governance structures, delivery frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
- Manage program budgets, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Ensure alignment between program objectives, business priorities, and delivery outcomes.
- Provide regular program updates, performance reporting, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate project planning, execution, and delivery across multiple teams.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
- Identify delivery risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure successful execution.
- Drive effective communication and collaboration across teams and organizational levels.
Agile Delivery & Change Management
- Support Agile ceremonies and facilitate effective collaboration across delivery teams.
- Identify and remove impediments affecting delivery performance.
- Promote Agile principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Support organizational change initiatives,
including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and adoption activities.
- Coordinate change management activities to support successful implementation of program outcomes.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 12+ years of overall professional experience, including substantial experience managing complex IT programs.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, multi-workstream technology initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of program governance, budget management, risk management, and dependency management.
- Demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders and communicating with executive leadership.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent priorities.
- Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Professional proficiency in Italian and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project/program management certifications.
- Experience supporting organizational change management initiatives.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching delivery teams.
- Background in enterprise technology transformation or complex IT delivery environments.
Working Arrangements
