The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Senior Accounting Specialist for an international industrial group expanding its operations in Northern Italy.
Based in the Crema area, the position covers the accounting activities of both an established Research & Development center and a new manufacturing facility.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO based abroad , the successful candidate will become the key accounting reference for the Italian operations, working closely with local management, international Finance colleagues and external tax advisors.
The role requires regular communication and financial reporting in English to international Finance leadership, alongside day-to-day collaboration with Italian operational teams.
This is a hands-on position with substantial autonomy and responsibility, combining operational accounting, statutory compliance, process development and participation in the implementation of a new Oracle ERP environment.
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who has developed the maturity and confidence to operate independently, interact effectively with senior international stakeholders and manage demanding priorities, while remaining fully involved in day-to-day accounting activities.

Your Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Control
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Italian operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing.
- Oversee supplier invoices, payments, customer invoicing and related accounting transactions.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries, accruals, prepayments and account reconciliations.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
- Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations with international entities.
- Manage accounting activities relating to fixed assets, depreciation and operational expenditures.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of purchasing, inventory and manufacturing-related transactions.
- Liaise with external tax advisors on Italian statutory accounting, VAT and compliance matters.
Accounting Processes & Organizational Development
- Establish and progressively formalize local accounting procedures, workflows and internal controls.
- Identify gaps in existing processes and implement practical, sustainable improvements.
- Develop reliable accounting documentation and reporting practices.
- Work proactively with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and other local stakeholders to collect information and ensure accurate accounting records.
- Strengthen the quality, consistency and reliability of financial information provided to Group Finance.
ERP Implementation & Process Integration
- Contribute to the implementation of a new Oracle-based accounting environment.
- Help translate Italian accounting, statutory and VAT requirements into functional ERP processes.
- Participate in process mapping, data validation, testing and implementation activities.
- Support the integration of accounting workflows with purchasing, inventory and operational systems.
- Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation and improved financial controls.
Your Profile We are particularly interested in candidates with the following background:
- Approximately 5–10 years of solid, hands-on accounting experience , ideally within a manufacturing company, industrial SME or international group.
- Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards, statutory requirements and VAT regulations .
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, closing activities and financial controls.
- Experience working with ERP or integrated accounting management systems.
- Exposure to accounting process implementation, organizational development or ERP projects would be a significant advantage.
- Good understanding of the relationship between accounting, purchasing, inventory and industrial operations.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Fluent Italian and strong professional English, including the ability to communicate directly with international Finance leadership on accounting matters, reporting and operational priorities.
Previous experience with Oracle EBS is welcome but not mandatory. Candidates with strong experience using other major ERP systems are equally encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Location The position is based in the Crema area, Lombardy , and requires regular on-site presence. Candidates living within reasonable commuting distance will be particularly welcome.
The proposed fixed annual gross salary (RAL) is €60,000–€70,000 , depending on experience and the overall fit with the position.
