Our project business develops, builds and sells solar and battery storage projects across Europe, and Italy is one of our core markets. Each of those assets needs a route to market, and that's our job: we negotiate, sign and manage the contracts that turn what a project produces into revenue. That means long-term PPAs, short-term route-to-market agreements and revenue contracts for batteries.
You'll be based in Rome and report to the Director of Energy Management & PPA Origination. You'll work on our Italian deals from first contact to signature, supporting negotiations and staying the commercial point of contact for the counterparty once the contract is signed. You'll work closely with our middle office, development, asset management, finance and legal.
What you'll do
- Run offtake processes for our Italian solar and BESS projects: prepare the tender, shortlist counterparties, compare bids and make a recommendation.
- Originate long-term PPA opportunities (pay-as-produced, baseload, hybrid) with utilities, traders and energy-intensive industrial buyers,
and support the negotiation through to signature.
- Originate short-term route-to-market contracts covering dispatching, imbalance and the sale of Guarantees of Origin.
- Structure revenue contracts for battery storage: tolling, floors and revenue-share agreements with optimisers, and participation in MACSE, the capacity market and ancillary services where it makes sense.
- Work with middle office on the pricing of each offer, and understand the drivers (capture prices, shape, volume, imbalance) well enough to explain and defend them with counterparties.
- Make sure contracts are bankable, so they work for lenders when we finance a project and for buyers when we sell it.
- Review term sheets and long-form contracts (EFET, ISDA and bespoke) with legal, and flag change-in-law, termination and other key commercial risks.
- Step in when something changes during the life of a contract (curtailment, outages, regulatory ch
