About The Role Grade Level (for internal use): 14 S&P; Global Ratings' Financial Services practice delivers forward‑looking credit insights across banks, insurers, and other financial institutions — assessing capital strength, funding and liquidity, asset quality, and governance to inform rating opinions that markets rely on and to help stakeholders understand how evolving risks, from macro shifts to digital assets and decentralized finance, affect financial stability and credit performance. The EMEA Financial Services team spans more than 150 analysts across nine regional offices. As Sector Lead for EMEA Financial Services/Financial Institutions (European Union), you will be the senior analytical voice on European banking and financial sector risk, driving thought leadership and analytical consistency across the practice. What You'll Do Impact Responsibilities * Act as the primary analytical spokesperson and counterpart for the Continental European financial institutions ecosystem — including the European Central Bank, regulators, institutional investors,
and major media — delivering high‑profile presentations on banking, non‑bank financials, and emerging areas such as decentralized finance and neobanks. * Lead thought‑leading research on European banking trends and systemic risk; chair the regional Analytical Oversight Credit Committee, define strategic portfolio reviews, and set annual analytical priorities grounded in data‑driven analysis and forward‑looking market insights. Leadership & Talent Development * Coach and mentor analysts as a senior role model, strengthening sector expertise, credit judgment, and AI‑enabled analytical capabilities; collaborate across sectors, regions, and asset classes to share best practices and promote global analytical consistency.
