Business Development & Marketing Specialist – Life Science

Pero (Milan), Italy

Who We Are

Ellab is a leading international group providing validation, monitoring, calibration and GMP consulting solutions and services for the Life Science industry. In Italy, we operate from Pero (Milan) and Latina, with a team of approximately 100 people and an ACCREDIA-accredited calibration laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) covering temperature, humidity, pressure and electrical quantities.

To support our growth in the Italian market, we are looking for a Business Development & Marketing Specialist with B2B experience and an interest in combining commercial outreach with local marketing activities.

The role

You will help generate new business opportunities for our sales team and implement marketing initiatives developed by our headquarters for the Italian market.

Approximately 70% of your time will focus on sales development: identifying and qualifying prospects, proactive telephone outreach and scheduling meetings for our Area Sales Managers. The remaining 30% will focus on local marketing execution, with dedicated time for content localisation, campaigns, events and communications.

You will work with the Sales Director on sales development activities and with the Country Manager and international marketing team on local marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales development and lead qualification

- Expand and qualify our prospect database, making effective use of existing contacts.
- Reach out to prospective customers through calls, emails and online meetings, identifying relevant stakeholders and business needs.
- Re-engage inactive contacts and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

- Schedule qualified meetings for Area Sales Managers, providing the information gathered during initial conversations.
- Keep the CRM updated, accurately recording contacts, activities and outcomes.

Marketing operations and communications
- Translate and adapt materials, presentations and content developed by headquarters for the Italian market, ensuring linguistic quality and brand consistency.
- Support updates to the Italian website and social media channels in coordination with the central marketing team.
- Help implement email and digital campaigns and monitor their key results.
- Support the organisation of trade shows, events and webinars, including logistics, materials and participant lists.
- Contribute to local communications and media relations, coordinating content and approvals with headquarters.
- Participate in meetings with the international marketing team and prepare regular updates on local activities.

What We Are Looking For

- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in sales development and/or operational marketing in a B2B environment.
- An educational background in marketing, business communications or a related field.
- Confidence in proactive telephone outreach, including cold calling, and motivation to generate opportunities for the sales team.
- An understanding of B2B marketing and communication fundamentals.

- Experience using CRM tools; knowledge of Salesforce is an advantage.
- Fluent English, enabling you to participate in meetings with headquarters and adapt content from English into Italian.
- Excellent written Italian.

Experience in Life Science or other regulated B2B sectors, as well as experience supporting industry events and trade shows, will be considered an advantage. You bring strong listening and interpersonal skills, initiative, organisation and attention to detail. You can manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with local and international colleagues.

What We Offer

- Employment under the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement for the Tertiary, Distribution and Services sector (CCNL Commercio).
- A gross annual base salary of €30,000–€35,000, paid in 14 instalments. Placement within this range will be based on objective, gender-neutral criteria: relevant experience, B2B sales development and marketing skills, proficiency with the required tools and ability to work independently.
- Meal vouchers worth €7.50 for each day worked on site, provided in addition to the stated base salary.
- Training on Ellab’s services and solutions, alongside collaboration with the international marketing team.
- Work location: Pero (Milan), Italy.
- The opportunity to contribute to the Italian market’s development within an international group, working closely with the sales team and headquarters.

We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender, in accordance with applicable equal opportunity legislation. Personal data will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
