About The Role
As a Junior Embedded Software & Cybersecurity Engineer, you will contribute to the development of secure embedded systems for railway fire detection and protection applications in safety-critical environments.
You will work closely with a senior embedded engineer with extensive experience in railway systems, TCMS communication, and cybersecurity, gaining strong hands-on exposure and structured technical mentorship.
The role combines embedded software development with cybersecurity engineering,
focusing on:

- Embedded cybersecurity implementation on Renesas microcontrollers with ThreadX RTOS, aligned with IEC/EN 62443-4-2
- Secure railway system integration, including onboard TCMS communication using TRDP and related protocols
You will collaborate with R&D;, systems, validation, and cybersecurity teams across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

- Support implementation of cybersecurity functions in embedded RTOS-based systems
- Assist in secure communication, authentication, and system integrity mechanisms
- Contribute to software testing, debugging, and verification activities
- Help implement cybersecurity requirements aligned with IEC/EN 62443-4-2
- Support documentation, configuration management, and technical reporting
- Participate in system integration, troubleshooting, and lab testing
- Analyze communication protocols and onboard network architectures
Education
Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Technical Skills

- Basic C programming for embedded systems
- Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded architectures
- Fundamentals of RTOS, TCP/IP,
and embedded communication protocols
- Interest in cybersecurity principles (authentication, secure communication, integrity, secure development)
Soft Skills

- Analytical and structured problem-solving mindset
- Clear communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong motivation to learn and develop technical expertise
Nice to Have

- Exposure to ThreadX or other RTOS environments
- Familiarity with industrial or railway communication systems
- Awareness of IEC/EN 62443 or similar cybersecurity standards
- Experience with Git/SVN
- Basic use of debugging tools (oscilloscope, protocol analyzers, etc.)
- Interest in safety-critical or railway systems
