HV System Failure Management

Design Consulting is looking for an engineer to support failure analysis, issue resolution and project planning for high-voltage electric powertrain systems in the automotive sector.

Location: Near Bologna, Italy, with availability for occasional short business trips.

Key responsibilities
- Investigate field-returned components and analyse quality claims to identify recurring failures and root causes.
- Coordinate corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, quality, aftersales and suppliers.
- Prepare product FMEAs and support technical risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain project plans for eDrive and HV battery systems.
- Monitor milestones, deliverables, KPIs, schedules and cost targets.
- Track engineering changes and assess their impact on timing, costs and system integration.

Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical,



Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within automotive quality, reliability, product engineering or field claim management.
- Knowledge of HV batteries, inverters and electric motors/eDrive systems.
- Experience in failure investigation and structured problem-solving methods: 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys and FMEA.
- Mandatory PES/PAV electrical safety training.
- Strong project planning skills using MS Project, cPlace or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Agile methodologies.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Fluent Italian and English; German is a plus.
