DESCRIPTION
Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of early childhood care and education and now includes the Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships program. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.
The Teacher is responsible for developing a quality learning environment which is developmentally appropriate and actively engages children in the learning process. Through experience this position will serve to enhance the child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth. The Teacher implements curriculum with active participation from other members of the teaching team, works with families, and assesses the needs of the individual children.You will also:
- Ensure safety practices in creating a secure environment that minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with the teaching team,
families and specialists to establish individual learning goals based on assessment findings.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages social interaction, emotional well-being and growth.
- Design and implement lesson plans based on knowledge of individual children’s interests and needs.
- Conduct home visits to build stronger relationships and gain a better understanding of the child’s home environment.
- Engage in continuous professional growth and development.
