Based in Milan and reporting to the Property Team Leader, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Property & Liability risks in the Italian market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be the contact person for selected agents working with the Mid-Corporate team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
- Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets.
- Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle.
- Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
- Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
- Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products.
- Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations).
- Communicate local business strategy externally.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering or Economics or Law.
- At least 5 years' proven experience in underwriting profitable Property including both PD/BI and Theft and Liability business for Corporate Clients.
- Preference if also experienced in Multinational clients.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.
- Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills.
- Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings.
- Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects.
- Able to work in an international organization.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Data Analytics.
- Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools.
