The Client: Our Client is a large international industrial player (undisclosed), in the North of Italy.
Within the company, Procurement represents a Strategic Global Function under the leadership of the Group CPO, who is successfully driving a relevant transformation and value generation journey. The Procurement function has been progressively shaped to be a "best in class" contributor to this journey, with a solid governance, a clear strategy, and distinctive skills to support continued company growth and future acquisitions. In this context, a new Commodity Manager, Direct Materials is now needed: an A-player , who can bring across fresh energy and strong functional skills to strengthen the function even further.
Position – The role:
The Global Commodity Manager will report to the Procurement Director of Business Unit and will take ownership of Raw Materials categories/Direct Materials. The role has an international scope , encompassing oversight of approximately 10 manufacturing plants globally
He/she will be in charge of 1) Designing a comprehensive commodity strategy and, 2) Initiating breakthrough Commodity Programs and Policies across the supply base, to ensure optimum TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) , on top of quality, delivery, sustainability, and innovation.
The role implies coordination of 2/3 buyers.
The complexity of the role and the recognised seniority will be driven by
- the ability to shape in autonomy the global strategy for the assigned commodity and group of key suppliers; and
- the capability to lead this strategy across a range of commodities, driving them through their next transformation phase .
The achievements obtained will generate high impact for the whole group and will be of high significance for a consistent professional career development.
