Business Development Manager - Engineering Plastics (Healthcare)

Resina Partners is supporting an international engineering plastics distributor in the search for a Business Development Manager to lead its healthcare business from Italy: an established Italian customer base to grow, and Iberia, Benelux and Turkey to grow.
Based in Italy, with around 40% travel.

An international group with over 60 years in plastics distribution and more than 20 branches and sales offices across Europe and beyond.
It distributes engineering plastics and specialty compounds for leading global producers, serving medical, automotive, E&E; and industrial markets.
Healthcare is a strategic growth segment, backed by a dedicated European healthcare team and a portfolio of medical-grade materials.
The role
In Italy the customers already exist: the job is to cultivate and grow them, starting from a direct handover with the outgoing colleague. In Iberia, Benelux and Turkey the job is growing the business: finding medical OEMs and brands and winning specification projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and grow the established Italian healthcare customer base
- Identify and develop new business at medical OEMs and brands in Iberia, Benelux and Turkey
- Build relationships with the decision-makers who drive material specification
- Build segment plans and track specification targets and pipeline in CRM through to handover to sales
- Represent the company at trade fairs, conferences and customer presentations
- Act as the internal healthcare reference: sales training, case studies, product launches
What we're looking for:
- Experience in the medical / healthcare value chain is a must: in sales, business development or marketing at a distributor, compounder or producer serving medical, or as a technical or product manager at a medical device manufacturer ready to move into a commercial role
- Knowledge of medical-grade plastics, certifications and regulatory compliance
- Hunter mentality: comfortable with cold outreach and discovery, not only with an existing portfolio
- Based in Italy and willing to travel around 40%
- Fluent Italian and English
Compensation:
€55k-€85k base, depending on proven healthcare experience. Company car + performance-based premio.
