Overview In this Bid Manager role, you will lead space project bids, coordinating proposals to major clients such as ESA, ASI, EC, and MoD. You'll organize the bidding process, collaborate with project managers, technical experts, cost controllers, and risk managers, and act as Proposal Manager during preparation. You will ensure compliance with RFP requirements, craft key volumes, and oversee timely submission and post-submission negotiations.
This position offers exposure to international partners and a pivotal role in shaping bids and contracts within a cross-functional team. Coordinate space project bids from proposal to submission to major customers (ESA, ASI, EC, MoD). Organize bidding processes in line with procedures and procurement rules.
Act as Proposal Manager during proposal preparation and collaborate with PMs, technical experts, costs, and risk managers. Ensure coherence and compliance of documentation with RFP requirements. Prepare the Cover Letter, Management and Financial volumes; develop the Implementation volume with WBS, team background, deliverables, schedule,
and cost sheets.
Interact with customers for clarifications and invitations to tenders; Lead negotiation activities post-submission and oversee contract hand-over to the BU. Maintain contacts with Prime Contractors, industrial partners, and providers in the space sector. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management/Business or Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering ~3+ years in space industry in a similar sales, project management, or system lead/engineer role for ESA/ASI/EC programs ~ proficient in English; Italian advantageous ~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
experience with procurement rules is preferred ~ Ability to work in international teams and manage tight schedules ~ Proactive, highly responsible with strong leadership in proposal teams ~ Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) ~ Proposal management and RFP handling ~ Industrial/work breakdown structure (WBS) development
