Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Operations Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team in one of our sites in Milan.
We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for proven technology managers with experience in people management, technical understanding, and the drive to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level.
You have experience creating and devising strategies, mentoring people , sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. You will manage teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and participate in an on-call rotation. You are willing to work autonomously and manage your teams effectively. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition, you will create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.
Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
DATA CENTER OPERATIONS (DCO) You will guide a team of technical professionals to support this work, as well as frequent engagement in the following activities: Routinely review ticket queues for large events and act accordingly Manage and deliver mid-size projects Recommend, write, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and the required Service Level Agreement (SLA) Manage a diverse and talented team of Data Center Technicians with varying skills, creates an inclusive environment Maintain the on-call schedule, and coordinate absence and vacations ensuring 24/7 operations Participate in on-call rotation for emergency and manages technical escalations Write and deliver performance reviews for staff Participates actively in hiring processes The applicable collective agreement for this role is CBA for employees of Telecommunication Sector .
