Job purpose: The Programme Officer (Forest Monitoring) will provide essential support to projects and programmes managed by the Forest Monitoring and Data Platforms Team. This role involves developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating assigned programmes and projects.
Key functions include conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings. The position also offers substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation, participating in survey initiatives, and contributing to various written outputs such as background papers and reports. Additionally, the role entails undertaking outreach activities, organizing training workshops, and participating in field missions for data collection and support.
Responsibilities: The Programme Officer will support the monitoring and evaluation of forest monitoring projects, including designing indicators, collecting data, and assisting with project evaluations. A key responsibility is developing team-wide guidance for measuring and reporting on forest monitoring technical assistance, utilizing standardized assessments.
