RNAIdea is an early-stage, fast-moving startup incorporated in Siena, Italy, as a spin-off supported by Wellcome Leap R3 program. We believe that RNA can democratize access to biologics worldwide and that AI is the key technology to enable it. We believe that 100% of the successful mRNA-based products – pharmaceutical and not – will be designed using AI software, and we want to lead that market.

We will distribute our software solutions through the fuRNAce global brokerage portal, to the scientific community at large and to commercial Biotech/Pharma customers.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Bioinformatician to further develop our core analytical pipelines and high-dimensional datasets. The Role

You will be the biological anchor of our computational team, responsible for the datasets that underpin RNAIdea’s strategy. You will design and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines to process raw RNA data and work directly with the ML team to translate complex biological signals into clean datasets ready for deep learning. You will develop integrated design tools for users and work directly with the Software Engineering team to deploy them at scale.

What You'll Do

· Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, automated bioinformatics pipelines for processing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.

· Data Analysis: Perform differential expression analysis, transcript quantification,



and quality control on large-scale transcriptomic datasets.

· Bridge the Gap: Act as the critical link between biology and machine learning. You will work closely with our ML Scientists to engineer biologically relevant features and validate model outputs against biological reality. You will understand the needs of RNA product developers and work with the SW dev team to translate them into design tools.

· Biological Interpretation: Interpret complex genomic data and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Bring

· Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience analyzing NGS data, with a specific, strong focus on RNA-sequencing (bulk or single-cell).

· Pipeline Building: You are completely comfortable building, running, and troubleshooting reproducible workflows from scratch using tools like Nextflow or Snakemake. Strong, independent programming skills in Python. You write clean, well-documented scripts for your analysis.

· Cross-Disciplinary Attitude: You are comfortable working in the "gray area" between biology and data science. You have experience formatting biological data to be used by computational or machine learning teams.

· Startup Mindset: You are highly adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and take ownership of your projects from start to finish.
