Within the *Operation Engineering* Directorate, MBDA Italia SpA is looking for an "**Electronic Design Engineer - Firmware Specialist**. **Required Qualification**: * Master's degree in computer engineering, electronics or equivalent **Activities foreseen for the role**: The resource will be involved in all activities related to the design, development and testing of digital devices (Beam Steering units for phased arrays, Motion Control units for mechanically scanned antennas, Digital Video Boards for Hyper-Frequency receivers, digital synthesizers, etc.). These activities include: * Design and development of Firmware for FPGAs in Xilinx Vivado environment * Definition and execution of Firmware test strategies, from behavioral simulation to the setup of a hardware TestBench with Firmware execution on a representative platform * Analysis of specifications and identification of Firmware requirements * Drafting,
analysis and updating of technical documentation * Functional and performance technical checks and investigations in the laboratory and in the field * Management of sub-suppliers through drafting of requirements and management of activities **Professional Skills**: The candidate is required to have the following skills: * Experience in the design and development of Firmware for FPGAs in VHDL language * Experience in creating Firmware TestBenches for behavioral simulations * Knowledge of Xilinx FPGA and System on Chip architectures * Knowledge of digital electronic analysis (DSO, SNA/VNA, DMM, ...) and generation (AWG, Pulse/Pattern Generator, ...) instrumentation Desired skills: * Knowledge of automatic code generation techniques (Xilinx High Level Synthesis, Matlab/Simulink HDL Coder) * Knowledge of embedded software programming languages for microcontrollers (ARM, Microblaze, ...) * Knowledge of PCB Design in Altium, Mentor Expedition environment, pre-layout simulation in Spice environment **Professional experience** * 2/3 years exercising the skills referred to in the previous section **Language skills**: * Written and spoken English **Organizational skills/Soft skills**: * Ability to work in a team in an international context * Analytical and synthesis skills and written communication * Flexibility at work * Availability to travel in Italy and abroad
