Role Description

This full-time, on-site Pastry Chef role at San Clemente Palace Venice is based in Venice and focuses on the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries and desserts for hotel outlets and events. The Pastry Chef plans and executes daily production, including breads, cakes, tarts, and specialty items, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance. Responsibilities include organizing the pastry kitchen, managing inventory of ingredients, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and collaborating with the culinary team to design seasonal and signature dessert menus. The role also involves supporting cost control, minimizing waste, training junior pastry staff, and adapting recipes to accommodate guest preferences and dietary requirements.

Qualifications

- Strong bakery and baking skills, with experience producing a range of breads, pastries, and desserts.
- Proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques,



with solid overall culinary skills in a professional kitchen.
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety regulations, and best practices for ingredient storage and handling.
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry-focused position, ideally in luxury hospitality or fine dining.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple orders, and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity in dessert design and flavor combinations, and commitment to consistent quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with chefs, service staff, and management.
- Relevant culinary or pastry education or certification is highly beneficial.
