Your next chapter starts here Your role: As an OT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer, you will be part of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Grid Software, contributing to the reliability, security and continuous improvement of business-critical OT infrastructure supporting our organization and customer solutions. Your day-to-day activities will include operating and maintaining virtualized server environments, managing backup and disaster recovery solutions, and autonomously troubleshooting infrastructure at customer premises. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers and external technical specialists to ensure reliable, secure and high-performing OT environments. You’ll make an impact by:
• Configuring, operating and maintaining virtualized server environments based on VMware vSphere, ESXi and HPE Morpheus, including virtual machines, storage integration and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Managing enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup policies, retention, immutability, decentralization and recovery testing.
• Administering and troubleshooting HPE servers on customer premises with a high degree of autonomy, as well as storage and security environments, ensuring availability, performance and compliance.
• Analyzing infrastructure requirements and coordinating technical implementation activities throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.
• Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers and external specialists to support the implementation,
maintenance and continuous improvement of OT infrastructure. What makes you a great match: Core Requirements
• Technical diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent technical discipline.
• Professional experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering within medium-sized or large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Practical experience on OS Linux&Windows.;
• Practical knowledge of HPE servers, NAS and SAN systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and infrastructure security principles. You do not need to be a cybersecurity specialist, but you should be able to apply security principles within infrastructure environments.
• Structured, analytical and solution-oriented approach to troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
• Ability to work independently, including technical activities at customer premises, while collaborating effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, suppliers and technical partners.
• Effective communication skills in Italian and an intermediate level of English, suitable for regular written and spoken interaction with international colleagues.
• Availability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Valid Category B driving license. Preferred Requirements
• Knowledge of HPE Morpheus virtualization.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise networking components, including switches, routers, VPNs and firewalls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and Remote Management System platforms.
• Knowledge of VoIP and enterprise telephony systems.
• Knowledge of backup security, disaster recovery and infrastructure hardening.
• Familiarity with IT service-management processes and ticketing systems. The Total Target Cash (Base + Variable) Pay Range for this position is € 45.000X–€60.000Y annually. The actual offer will be determined within this range, based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
