SENER
At Quark Sener Group , we design the digital infrastructure that connects the world safely, efficiently and sustainably.
As part of Sener Group, we combine specialist data centre expertise with the capabilities of an international engineering and technology group. Our track record includes more than 100 facilities designed, over 1,000,000 m² of IT space and more than 2 GW of IT power delivered.
We are now looking for an accomplished business leader to establish and grow our presence in Italy and contribute to our continued expansion across Europe.
Your mission
Based in Milan, you will lead our development in the Italian data centre market, building senior client relationships, originating strategic opportunities and establishing the foundations of our local organisation.
This is not a conventional sales role. You will become the senior representative of Quark Sener Group in Italy, with the potential to assume responsibility for selected European markets and international strategic accounts as the business develops.
You will also provide local leadership to our team in Italy within a matrix organisation, coordinating country priorities while working closely with Discipline Leaders, Project Directors and corporate functions.
What will you be doing?
· Define and execute our market-entry and growth strategy for Italy.
· Build relationships with hyperscalers, colocation operators, investors, developers, utilities and technology companies.
· Originate and lead major opportunities from early engagement through proposal, negotiation and contract award.
· Position Quark Sener Group as a strategic engineering partner for data centre and mission-critical developments.
· Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across architecture, engineering, sustainability, project management and commissioning.
· Establish our presence in Milan and progressively select, build and develop a high-performing local team and partner network.
· Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination to the professionals working in Italy, aligning the local team around country priorities, client commitments and business objectives.
· Work with Discipline Leaders and Project Directors to coordinate resource allocation, workloads, project assignments and organisational needs.
· Contribute to objective-setting, performance discussions and professional development in coordination with each professional’s functional manager.
· Lead the selection and onboarding of the local team together with the relevant Discipline Leaders and People team, and support its integration, engagement and retention.
· Promote effective collaboration between the Italian organisation and Quark Sener Group’s international technical and corporate teams.
· Identify cross-border opportunities and support strategic clients operating across Europe.
· Contribute to market-entry initiatives in selected European countries.
· Represent the company at executive meetings, industry events and relevant institutional forums.
· Maintain strong commercial discipline across pipeline, forecasting, profitability, contracts and risk.
How you will lead the local team
The Italian organisation will operate under a matrix management model. As Country Manager, you will serve as the senior local leader, coordinate local priorities and act as the principal point of reference for matters affecting the Italian operation.
Discipline Leaders and Project Directors will retain responsibility for technical standards, functional expertise and project delivery. You will work jointly with them to agree priorities, coordinate resources, anticipate recruitment needs, support performance and development discussions, and resolve competing commercial, technical and operational demands.
The role therefore requires the ability to lead through influence, shared accountability and effective collaboration across organisational boundaries.
What are we looking for?
· 10+ years of experience in business development, commercial leadership, country management or international market development.
· A strong record of securing high-value engineering, consulting, construction or infrastructure assignments.
· Relevant experience in data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, advanced facilities, energy or technology-led real estate.
· An established understanding of the Italian market and its network of operators, investors, developers, utilities and delivery partners.
· Experience engaging with C-suite executives and coordinating international, multidisciplinary teams.
· The credibility and entrepreneurial mindset required to establish and grow a new country operation.
