About Cap4 Lab and IMS

Cap4 Lab is an international consulting and technology company specialised in API and integration strategies, with locations in Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Costa Rica, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Our Integration Management Support (IMS) practice runs the application-level operations (L0–L3) of enterprise integration landscapes for our managed-services customers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We support a wide range of technologies with a focus on integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Talend and IBM App Connect, together with the messaging, API, container and cloud platforms around them and selected business SaaS. Our support model is technology-agnostic and ITIL-based, and our customers rely on contractual SLAs that our team is measured against every month.

Our L1 and L2 engineers form one team working towards the same goal: keeping our customers' integration landscapes running. The separation between the two levels is organisational, not physical – L2 engineers step into L1 operations whenever the situation requires it, and L1 engineers grow into L2 work as their skills develop.

The role

As Support Integration Engineer (L1) you are the first human in the chain. You work in the IMS service desk in a worldwide shift rotation, watch the monitoring platforms, catch and qualify alerts and tickets, resolve the recurring cases with agreed procedures and dispatch the rest to L2 with a clean, well-documented hand-over – all within the initial-response times we commit to.

The role is the entry point into our support career path; the natural next step is the Senior Support Integration Engineer (L2) role.

Your responsibilities

- Catch, validate and dispatch: monitor alerts and incoming tickets, assign priority, perform first-level diagnosis and route to L2 or to the customer's teams within the agreed response time.
- Execute the agreed monitoring use cases and periodic health checks on customer platforms and applications.

- Resolve recurring incidents and service requests with documented procedures: restarts, redeployments via pipeline, basic log analysis, dead-letter-queue checks and message replay, scheduler and batch-job checks.
- Keep tickets accurate and up to date in our ticketing system or the customer's ITSM tool; ensure every action is traceable.
- Escalate structurally: provide L2 with the evidence collected (logs, timestamps, impact) so no investigation starts from zero.
- Contribute to the knowledge base: flag gaps in procedures and propose improvements after each shift.
- Take part in the 24x7 shift rotation (including nights, weekends and public holidays), organised worldwide across our locations.

What you bring

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a natural curiosity about root causes.
- Basic understanding of networking (OSI model, HTTP, TLS, DNS), Linux fundamentals and monitoring/management tools.
- Ability to read application logs and collate information from several sources into a clear ticket.
- Ability to assess faults, prioritise under pressure, respond and escalate accordingly.
- Reliable, structured and accountable way of working in a shift-based team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills; a 'can do' attitude.
- Good written and spoken English (B2); further languages are welcome.

Nice to have

- Experience in an L1/L2 service desk, NOC or 24/7 operations environment managing customer-facing applications.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, service request, change, problem management) and of concepts such as SOPs, shift hand-over/take-over and SLA handling.

- First exposure to an integration technology (MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Talend, IBM App Connect or similar), a messaging system (RabbitMQ, Kafka) or a container platform (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Exposure to a public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba).

Working model

- Hybrid: on-site presence at a Cap4 Lab office is required, with remote work possible on the other days; we prefer a few days per week in the office.
- Shift work in a worldwide 24x7 rotation, with the shift schedule published in advance.

What we offer

- A structured career path with continuous development, training and relevant certifications.
- A multicultural, international team (13+ nationalities) working on projects across several industries.
- Flat hierarchies, short communication channels and an open-door policy.
- Competitive compensation.
- A collegial, respectful working environment with regular joint company events (workshops, company parties).

We value diversity and welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, origin, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation.
