About our client
Our client is the Italian affiliate of a manufacturer of power conversion systems, part of an international group with affiliates worldwide. The company designs, manufactures and supports rectifiers, converters, inverters and UPS systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/AC) for critical applications in industry, oil & gas, transportation, railways, marine, hospitals, telecom and data centers.
What sets the company apart is customisation. Its customers don’t buy off-the-shelf products. They need engineered solutions built around their exact requirements. The Italian team is small, collaborative and growing, and it handles sales and service across the Italian market.
The role
As Solutions Engineer, you’ll be the technical-commercial link between customers, the Italian team and the group’s factories in Germany and France. You’ll focus on developing the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) and System Integrator market: Italian companies delivering projects in Italy and abroad.
This role covers the full lifecycle of a project. It doesn’t end when the order is signed. That’s where much of the work begins. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director of the Italian affiliate.
What you’ll do
Presales & business development
- Support customers in the presales phase with technical documentation, certifications, declarations and calculations
- Translate customer requirements into customised technical solutions together with engineering
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the EPC and System Integrator market
- Analyse the competitive landscape and identify new opportunities
- Own your sales KPIs: order intake, revenue, margin and new customer acquisition
Project & lifecycle management
- Manage and grow the existing EPC and System Integrator portfolio
- Coordinate projects in English with headquarters, the manufacturing sites and external suppliers
- Follow medium and large projects through delivery, installation and commissioning
- Provide ongoing aftersales support, including service contracts, spare parts and technical questions from the field, sometimes years after installation
Networking & teamwork
- Represent the company at trade fairs in Italy and abroad
- Join alignment and training sessions at headquarters, other affiliates and suppliers
- Contribute to problem solving and process improvement within the team
What you bring
- A diploma or bachelor’s/master’s degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g. electrical engineering)
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical-commercial role in power electronics, industrial automation, energy conversion or electrical systems
- Experience with complex B2B sales and project/order flows
- Fluent Italian and strong professional English, which you’ll use daily with headquarters. Part of the interview process will be in English. German is a plus but not required
- Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad
- A customer-focused, analytical, problem-solving mindset
- Eagerness to learn. You don’t need to know the product range yet, but you need the technical foundation and curiosity to master them
