ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in Genoa.
The ideal candidate has a strong electrical or automation background, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an international maritime environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of onboard marine systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation and control system issues.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Provide technical assistance on board cruise ships and commercial vessels.
- Prepare technical reports and service documentation.
- Work independently and coordinate with technical teams and customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field.
- Previous experience in electrical systems, automation or industrial maintenance.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good command of English (minimum B2 level).
- Ability to work independently and manage technical interventions.
- Willingness to travel frequently internationally and work on board vessels – essential.
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous experience in the maritime industry.
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC systems, including programming and diagnostics.
- Experience with marine environmental systems, scrubbers or ballast water treatment systems.
- Previous field service or commissioning experience.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Gross annual salary (RAL): €38,000–€45,000, depending on experience and technical skills.
